After waiting for another three months... the new releases by LES MILLS had finally arrived. The gym class launch was done together with a charity event named the MIRACLE as it did the year before. However this year it is divided into 2. The Internal and External Launch. Primarily because the internal launch needed equipments that needed to be hauled. This includes the BodyPump, BodySTep & BodyBalance. Where else BodyAttack, BodyCombat and BodyJam was a part of the external launch held at Cineleisure. So here's my personal lengthy comment about the entire event.... he..he... :p

I was there early. around 1030, needed to check out the stage for the BJ-LICIOUS team thats taking part in the bodyjam event at 6PM. .. but thats another story..... (will talk about it more later) ... so lets focus on this one first... he he.. :p

BodyBalance ended and gave way to the bodystep launch at the Curve Fitness First that morning. The studio looked a bit plain. There should have been a poster at the back... yelling MIRACLE ' 07 or perhaps the LES MILLS LAUNCH poster. No balloons either. It felt just like a normal class. Think the club manager was still sleeping... or was simply being lazy.

Dressed in sexy cooled outfit they were ready to go...

The instructors were ready to go ....

They were ready to teach their first lesson that morning....

... and so the fun started.... the warm up...

.... the exercise....

.. the energy....

.......the arm lines and the fancy foot work....

I couldnt take it much longer and vowed that I'll do the new release the following Monday. It looked that the new tracks were really exciting. Cool music and fancy moves. But for today... I really need to workout and continue my weights routine, grab lunch and then head for the Miracle 07 event next door in Cineleisure. and so I did... grabbed.. a triple decker from obriens and salad with Azie and Juwita and headed to cineleisure.

The stage had a landing platform from the 3ft height stage to the floor. A great idea to let the instructors to come to the floor.

Plenty of space for the members to join in the launch. Some enthusiast was there early to check it out.
Annjet and friends where the few ones there early that day..

It was around 2PM then and some bodyattack and bodycombat combat teams were already there psyching themselves up.

Does this remind me of the DIGI advert? .... I will follow u... follow u to wherever u may go......".
But seriously... I can tell u so many things that's wrong with this picture.

  1. Where are the members? 10 clubs of hundreds of members and only a bunch were there... Obviously the charity event did not draw enough of FF member to support the event. Think a minute or 2... what happens if u have an internal launch on the same day that morning? Members not gonna stay until 8PM that nite right? And why are all the other clubs open as usual? Shouldnt the idea is to draw the crowd to the external launch? Sigh.

  2. Shouldn't there be a huge banner in front of the blue cloth entitled ' MIRACLE 07 / FITNESS FIRST ? ' It just looked a bunch of mess and definitely not a charity event. Could giving out flyers in the Curve or Cineleisure draw more crowd to the place? Better then just leaving the leaflets on the floor under the table right?

  3. There were no clear markings to what the booth were for. The only clear signage I can see is ' JOIN FOR FREE.. TODAY ONLY '.... and that's the least of my concerns... Each booth should be clearly marked.. and that means with an A3 laminated poster at eye level with a striking background. How many A3 size or bigger can u spot?

  4. And honestly.. if its for charity.. then the focus should be on it. call it a charity event. Operative word being charity. Even the theme... shouldnt it be called MIRACLE CHARITY? Look at the backdrop of the stage... see how the word charity fizzles in the background.

  5. Btw... is this event opened to anyone? or only for members?

  6. I think its time Fitness First wakes up and get proper event company to run its events. Giving themselves a bad name among its own members. A proud member I am not. They are just damn lucky that a lot of their members and instructors had never ceased to stop supporting and pushing themselves for the club. The GXs and Instructors are the ones making sure everything goes smoothly. I just wished FF would appreciate what they've got and improve. Have clear objectives and pursue it. To excel and be competitive and not just carrying out the works without understanding their goals for that day.

  7. On the good side, the stage, soundspeakers looked n sounds awesome. The Yellow T-shirt looked great, just wished they sold it too... Registration was done smoothly with wristbands and properly done voting boxes.

Gino, Nick and Kenny at the registration Counter

Herny and Mimi rushing to up the entrance counter.

There were also a bunch of sponsors that set up booth. The volunteers were dressed in yellow.

The Miracle T-shirt were sold. U needed vouchers to buy them. Each voucher booklet were sold at RM50. It was for charity after all. The cash will help the 'PERSATUAN WARGA ISTIMEWA & REHABILITASI ANGGOTA K9'. U can do your part and volunteer for them at www.perwirak9.org . Its for a spinal ward at the Orthopedic and Traumatologi Department at KL Hospital (HKL)

Darn. my camera settings werent properly set.
Everything was a bit out of focus.

The girls attended to the spinning booth... errr..hmm... I think the 18 inch diameter wheel didnt make the whole spinning idea worked. Try out a 1.5meter diameter next time,
its suppose to be fun .. not retarded.

Voting boxes at the entrance for people to vote their favourite tribe challenge team.

Teoh and Serena.... still tired after the bstep launch...

People can sign up with FF too.....

Registration was pretty organized. Heck.. actually.. there were not many people that turned up. I guess the event managers didnt do a good job at handling and promoting the event.

Ok ... ok... for those people who are still lost..... guess I fail to mentioned it earlier.... the external launch not only will involve a group of fitness first finest instructors in executing the new LES MILLS releases... but also there's gonna be a tribe challenge... in 3 separate category... BODYATTACK, BODYCOMBAT & BODYJAM.

Its sumthing similar to the NIKE tribe challenge they had a few years back in MENARA AXIS FF. (Check out my website for the pics... that one rocks too.. he he )..

anyway.... winners will be chosen based on 60% on judges and 40% by voters thru the coupons they've purchased. Each class is RM20 and the coupons are placed in voting boxes.

By now you are probably going.... wwhat the f&(^#)??

How can a gym class launch become a charity event, a press conference for the disable and also a tribe challenge? ha ha.. let me explain... firstly... the club obviously supports the 'MALAYSIA BOLEH' ideology. But lets focus on the objectives.

1. Charity - to create awareness and create funds for the disable.
2. Business- Fitness First to promo their clubs.
3. LES Mills launch - to encourage ppl in joining GX classes.
4. TRIBE challenge - to instill and encourage members to excel.

And honestly... I dont think any of the objectives were focus upon. Everything was halfed baked. Focusing on charity... there should be 2 focal points.. awareness and funds. How is awareness and funds being reeled in? Pamphlets should be given away in the Cineleisure front entrance, people roaming the curve. A huge donation box could have generated funds. Where was the focus?

Tribe challenge.... honestly.. if its to encourage members to become instructors.. this should happen 3 months in advance not 2 weeks for audition and another 2 weeks for the launch. Members learning instructors side for a newly launch track is not an easy tasks. Plus,.. the entry form didnt even mentioned the prizes to be won. Thus my conclusion will be this was used to reel members to attend the launch. But duh?.... this time the tribe didnt represent any of the clubs...  why should any of the member attend? was there a need to support the tribe? heck... including this part in the event felt kinda funny and misplaced.

ok ok.. enough fussing and rambling about the event.... lets just leave it to fitness first to do a post mortem and figure out how they did that weekend...

so... lets move on the fun part :D... YEHAA!!!!
