It was the 3rd day. We decided to take
it easy. There's gonna be a 'walking street' night market right beside
Montri Hotel. Only on Sundays. That's probably where we gonna spent
the most time that day. Also the most money.. ha ha... Our flight back
home is the day after. So we've got 24hrs to go.
That is Montri
Hotel. Basic Necessities. Not expensive and very strategic.
Right beside the 'walking street' night market on every
Sunday.
The Up Class
hotel nearest to the area is Amora Hotel. Located on the left
side of the pic, not too far from the East Gate. |
The shop is
call SAILOMJOY |
Mike opt to
take the Yentafour noodle soup today. It was the local Kow Soi
Chiang Mai noodle the day before. The Basil Chicken Rice is
quite okie too. |
We heard of a
up class Chatucak type market not too far from the city and
decided to take a tut tut there, unfortunately the place was
closed. The place looked un-interesting and I urge for
everyone not to go there. We turned around and headed back to
the hotel and rests.
We decided to
drop by the tour agent again and asked them about a half day
trip to the Karen Long Neck Village. It was 750 Baht per
person.
Moments later
we were out again, finding food for lunch. The Tour will start
at 1pm.
We walked
across the Eastern Gate and walked straight in the mid day sun
and ended up at a small restaurant to the left side of the
street. The food was simply delicious. |
| We
then had to rush to the hotel lobby where the tour guide will
pick us up on our next tour. |
This time, there
was only 2 of us with the tour guide. The trip took us more
than an hour. It was around 70km outside of the chiang Mai
city. |
Montri hotel
is situated directy infront of the eastern gate
That's the
shop around the corner where we mostly have our breakfast,
lunch and dinners.
The Pad Thai
was nice. Tho small portion. The orange juice was from fresh
mandarin oranges.
Michael seemed
to enjoy eating anything... :)
The inner
streets within the old city moves counter clock wise and the
outer streets moves counter clockwise. U need to know where u
r heading to take the tut tut. Everywhere should costs less
than 40Baht.
Morning glory,
Green Thai Curry and Tom Yam Soup.

The Fish Tom
Yam tasted a bit funny, should hav sticked to chicken or
Seafood instead.
| |
The Karen Village seems to be peacefully
located at the northern part of Chiang Mai. They are
originally the mountain people of laos. But people of this
village was asked my the Thai Government to live here as part
of the tourist attraction.

The golden
one-piece metal rings is heavy and it pushes the shoulders
down causing the neck to grow.

It reminds me
of the songket weaving machine in Malaysia.

of LongNecks staying there.

They spend the
days making table runners for tourists.

We got back to the hotel and from the hotel room, we could see that
the 'walking street' market was already filled with vendors.

The stuffs we bought that day.
I also had some rounds of coconut
deserts.. nice nice... It was hustling and bustling with
people of all ages. Even our tour guide was there with her
friends. |
We went backed to the apt moments
later to rest. Tired we were.

Well, actually, I then realized I didnt' get anything for my mum,
so went down all the way again into the crowded street and I got
my hands on another Thai Silk for my mum. :) |

All set to go home :)
We had breakfast , checked out of the hotel and headed to the
airport the next morning.

The noisy
malaysians were gonna be on our flight back home as well, sigh. I
thought only the flight to chiang Mai was gonna be tough.
| |
We anxiously awaited
for the plane and got on board. |
We took off and were
soaring above the clouds. |
I re-adjust my watch
one hour ahead and then kinda ended the entire trip. We were back on
home soil. |
