SINGAPORE TRIP - MAY 2006
 


 It was the labour day weekend. Wanted to get out of town and spend some time wif my Singaporean friends. Also wanted to bring Mike to Singapore to meet my god bro Francis. Also Richard and the other friends. Have not seen them ever since my last trip 6 months back.


Its my first time on the train to SG. Mike pestered that it will be a whole new experience and insisted that we traveled there by the Night Train, its a lot cheaper and shortens travel time as we would be sleeping all the way. I agreed.


There wasnt much space, just enough for one person to lie down comfortably and sleep.
I tire myself out that day, heading to gym and stuff, so that i'll sleep better that nite. I'm a light sleeper. Wanted to knock myself out that nite.


I took the upper bunker while mike took the bottom... it was a bit noisy n bumpy but i managed to sleep... eerr.. the sleeping pill helped... :P

 

The next day...


We reached Tanjung Pagar train station, walked to the MRT and took a ride to Orchard, took a shower in Paragon Fitness First and put our bags there while we roamed Orchard Road.

Had Yakun for Breakfast. Also the biscuit Rasberry Ripple Ice Cream..  that day.. :) It was mainly walk walk... shop shop... and yup, i made a large hole in my pocket ... ha ha.. Didnt manage to cover the entire street. Just from WheelLock to Hereen. Bought plenty of stuff, shirts and singlets mostly. The sexy oness... yup.. yup...
Francis met us up in the evening after work near Cali gym. We then headed for dinner.

Dinner was at Mushroom Pot in Orchard. It was steamboat mushroom. So nice and healthy. Pocky is Thai. It was
my 1st time meeting him and Kelvin. but they were very nice and frenly ppl. We then headed back to Francis place and slept there.
 

The next day....

We went to the nearby market/food court for bfast.


We then stopped by SMU. Singapore Management University. Francis had to meet a fren and bring her to Edmunds cake shop in SMU. The Campus was new. In the heart of the city. Huge and proper. I was amazed. They had all the necessity. Wished our local university was somewhat like that,.. sigh.

Edmund makes desserts and cakes... nice ones. I liked the Banana Chocolate Pie most. The Apple Pie and Brownie was nice too :) ... Francis had asked Edmund to do the cakes and sell them. Mainly for mothers day. The money will be used to help Cambodians. He's planning to head there again and continue in his efforts to give them a better life. A good soul Francis is. My bro. :)
 
We then went to QueensTown. Mike and me bought Nike Latest Shoe.. NIKESLAT.. nice shoes... awful names.. ha ha..

Hmm... i think we then went to Bugis Junction. Bought more stuff from there. Got a MICKEY T-SHIRT... it was on sale, I couldnt resist. As nite falls, Richard met us up.... OMG .. he put on weight after comin back from taiwan. Francis picked us up and we went dinner....
 

I cant remember the name of the street..  chinese name.... LS ??? we ate a wholesome dinner followed by dessert at a nearby shop. The shop didnt sell pork, so i was safe,... so I tot... ha ha.... until I found out I actually ate frog legs.. ha ha.. no wonder the chicken wings tasted different.. ha ha... yuck! .. yuck ! ...he he...
 

Osman, Michael. Richard, Francis, Edmund & Matt. So tired. We headed back and rested.
Oh wait... no.. i think Francis dropped us off at Mustaffa... (its 24hrs) .. so we did minor shopping
to get gifts for frens. :)


The next day....

Francis and mike went to church next morning while I slept in. They came back and together wif nicholas, we went for hainanese chicken rice for brunch. Ended up in Orchard Road again allowed us to walk and shop again. We also had the rasberry ripple biscuit ice cream once again... yum yum  yum....  .. and we ended up in City Hall.

We were then tired... the eye bags shows.. so we headed back to francis place

Mike was hungry ... so we took the MRT and dropped by the market to get Fish Soup... yum.. burp!... before resting at Francis place.
 
We came back that nite to that shop where we had a feast of seafood stuff.. Richard and Francis was there. Ate clams, fishes, veges. Very nice. I like. was so full... we then had to rush back, packed and headed to the train station.
 

I had the lower bunker tis time. The train departed at 1015pm and we arrived 730am the next morning....
